The 8th International Symposium on Enchytraeidae will convene in Durham, United Kingdom, 2-6 July 2008.
This symposium will include lectures, field work and a workshop. Field work will focus on enchytraeids of habitats within the Durham Magnesian Limestone Plateau. The workshop, funded by the British Ecological Society and led by Dr Rudiger Schmelz will be to bring together biologists interested in both the ecology and taxonomy of Enchytraeidae.
Accommodations for symposium participants will be available at St Chad's College in Durham; the cost will be £40 (approximately 60 euros) for full board (i.e., bed, breakfast, lunch, and dinner). There is a conference fee of £10. Students may be able to obtain a grant for attendance from the British Ecological Society.
Durham is on the main London-Edinburgh rail line; the nearest airports are located in Newcastle and Durham-Teesside.
