This is a full-time, permanent, position with full benefits. Duties include: taxonomic identification of aquatic invertebrates (including Oligochaeta and Chironomidae), design of freshwater invertebrate research projects, compilation and analysis of biological and environmental data, preparation of internal reports and peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, presentation of findings at professional and public meetings, organizing and leading field sampling trips, managing aquatic invertebrate laboratory, devising and modifying field and laboratory protocols, training of field and laboratory personnel, quality control, other duties related to program and facility functions as requested by program supervisors.

Minimum qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the biological sciences and one year of professional biological experience in a field or laboratory program; or a master’s degree in one of the biological sciences. Master’s degree with experience collecting and identifying aquatic invertebrates, and analyzing aquatic invertebrate data, preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Salary range begins at $32,900.00 annually.
