Responsibilities:
Seeking highly motivated M.S. student to investigate translocation success of Great Plains stream fishes in eastern Colorado. Climate change and land use are altering stream habitat at rapid rates, and translocations will be critical to conserve rare native plains stream fishes in the remaining habitats. This project combines field ecology and quantitative analysis of stream fish movement and sampling issues to address how to optimize and detect translocation success.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in aquatic ecology, fisheries, or related field. Desired qualifications include excellent academic record (min. 3.0 GPA), field experience sampling fish and aquatic ecosystems, a strong quantitative (math and/or statistics) and computing background, and good writing skills.
Salary:
A graduate research and teaching assistantship provides 12-month stipend, plus tuition.
