  • Academy of Natural Sciences Malacology and Invertebrate Paleontology (345)
    Malacology and invertebrate collections catalogs, and molluscan species database, and publications.
  • Algae Collection - U.S. National Herbarium (518)
    The US Algal Collection is represented by over 219,548 accessioned and inventoried herbarium specimens preserved on herbarium sheets. The herbarium sheets are catalogued by number and detail the taxonomic, geographic, and collection data for each specimen (including cross-references to the applicable support collections and the computerized inventory database). In addition to the herbarium sheets, the Museum's collection contains over 70,000 specimens on microscope slides, in boxes, or in the liquid-preserved collection. The Algae Collection of the U.S. National Herbarium has been inventoried and compiled into a computerized database. The type collection is searchable on the World Wide Web. The main collection is currently accessible only by in-house staff. Collections-based research inquiries of this database are available in printed form and may include searches on any of the indexed fields.
