While specifically set up for environmental education on the Bryant Creek Watershed (Douglas and Ozark Co., MO, US), this Watersheds.org site has a wealth of general information and resources for K-12 educators and students. The site provides material on biological, physical, social and economic perspectives on watersheds. In addition to static resources, there are several interactive features, including Flash animations on karst geology and stream macroinvertebrates. The Atlas has been recognized for educational excellence by the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education.

- Center for Environmental Education Online (781)
The Center for Environmental Education (CEE) was founded as a clearinghouse
for educational resources by Jayni and Chevy Chase in 1989. Almost a decade
later, the Center moved to Antioch New England Graduate School, a stronghold
for environmental education; and more recently CEE developed this website to
assist environmental educators around the globe. The heart of the site is an
extensive curriculum library that contains annotated links to resources
under a broad range of environmental categories including Biodiversity,
Food, Waste, Population, and more. The site also offers an online newsletter
covering a variety of pertinent topics for environmental educators (updated
weekly), a special section regarding green schools, and a Hot Topics

- CIESE Bucket Buddies Project (402)
The Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) has developed this online project to allow students around the world to compare the organisms found in water samples they collect from local ponds. This year's project will run from March 15 - June 1. Classes will develop a hypothesis, collect data to be shared with other participants, analyze the shared data, and complete a final report to be posted online. - CUAHSI Database of Education and Outreach Programs (209)
To assist the aquatic sciences community in identifying existing education and outreach programs that might be useful outlets for their research, the CUAHSI Education and Outreach program has developed a database of existing hydrology-related education and outreach groups around the US. These groups may be useful as partners to meet NSF “broader impact” requirements or may provide information that may help researchers better design and tailor their own outreach programs. Each resource includes the internet site where the data was found along with a relevant description of the specific outreach program. The database has been organized to enable searching based on the following criteria: Geographic location (national to local); Type of organization (e.g., federal, nonprofit, commercial, etc.); Target audience / education level; and Open text searches on Themes, Keywords, and Descriptions.

Created and maintained by Professor David M. Lane of Rice University, the HyperStat Online site contains an online introductory statistics textbook, complete with sections on normal distributions, confidence intervals, prediction, and the logic of hypothesis testing. Each section contains a number of discrete subsections, and users can feel free to browse around at their leisure. Site includes a good selection of interactive instructional demos and excersiae and problem sets.

Teaching Issues and Experiments in Ecology (TIEE) is an NSF-funded, ESA-sponsored, peer-reviewed, and classroom/ field tested collection of teaching materials (1) to facilitate inquiry-based Experiments to Teach Ecology in laboratory courses, and (2) that uses active-learning methods and current controversial Issues to Teach Ecology for lecture classes. The TIEE resource collection is not merely a static site of labs or topics for lecturing, it is an interactive set of new materials that are both scientifically sound and pedagogically innovative.

- Water on the Web (362)
The primary goal of Water on the Web (WOW) is to train students to understand and solve real-world environmental problems. WOW contains two sets of curricula. Basic Science offers opportunities for high school and first year college students to learn basic science through hands-on science activities, in the lab and in the field, and by working with state-of-the-art technologies accessible through this web site. Water Science offers a two-semester water resource management curriculum for second year technical students or undergraduates in water resource management, water science, or environmental resource management programs.
