    The Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative (ARMI) was formed by the U.S. Geological Survey as a national program for amphibian conservation, research, and monitoring. The website provides background information about ARMI as well as sections on Monitoring, Research & Development, Regions & People, and Products. The Research & Development section includes information about ongoing efforts at national, regional, and local levels. The Products section links to an extensive list of publications (some of which are hyperlinked) including Journal Articles, Circulars, Reports, and more.     Invasivespecies.gov is the gateway to (US) Federal efforts concerning invasive species. On this site you can learn about the impacts of invasive species and the Federal government's response, as well as read select species profiles and find links to agencies and organizations dealing with invasive species issues. Invasivespecies.gov is also the Web site for the National Invasive Species Council, which coordinates Federal responses to the problem.

  • The Biological Assessment of Wetlands Workgroup (USEPA) (363)
    The Biological Assessment of Wetlands Workgroup (BAWWG, affectionately referred to as "bog") was formed in 1997 with the objective of improving methods and programs to evaluate the biological integrity of wetlands. The national workgroup consists of wetland scientists from federal agencies, states, and universities. BAWWG is coordinated by the EPA's Wetlands Division and Office of Science and Technology. Sections of the site includes case studies, methods and bibliography.
  • U.S EPA - Science Inventory (500)
    EPA’s Science Inventory is a searchable, Agency-wide catalog of more than 4,000 science activities such as research, technical assistance and assessments, along with more than 750 peer-reviewed products. The database contains more than 19,000 records in the archives including project descriptions, products produced, types of peer review, links to related work and contacts for additional information.
  • United Nations Environment Program: Freshwater (275)
    The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) addresses the issue of how the decline in the quantity and quality of the world's freshwater resources "may prove to be the dominant issue on the environment and development agenda of the coming century." Users can learn about water scarcity, water and sanitation, water quality, groundwater, floods and droughts, and other key water-related issues. The website provides links to case studies of some of these key issues such as the mitigation of the impact of urbanization on freshwater resources in Africa. Researchers can find conference proceedings, information on institutions and programs dealing with water resource issues, and policy documentation.   • USGS-National Wetlands Research Center (297)
    The National Wetlands Research Center is a source and clearinghouse of science information about wetlands in the United States and the world for fellow agencies, private entities, academia, and the public at large. The Center provides information on wetland habitats through a system of peer reviewed journal articles, databases, synthesis reports, workshops, conferences, technical assistance, training, and information/library services. The Center, also, solves wetland-related problems and conducts status and trends inventories of wetland habitats, evaluates wetland problems, and conducts field and laboratory research on wetland issues. Online resources include a digital library of NWRC publications and access to maps and data.
