Travel information
Flights into Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport will be the most economical, and virtually every major airline services this airport. Airtran Airlines consistently has the lowest fare flights, but it only services select cities in the eastern half of the US (major airlines often match prices). Delta Airlines is based in Atlanta and might be another good choice (and a discount rate has been negotiated, see below). US Airways air shuttle service operates between Athens and Charlotte, NC, for those who want to fly directly into Athens (although prices will be higher and seating is limited).
Delta Airlines will offer a Meeting Discount Rate of 5% off any published discount fare (excludes U & T fares) and 10% off full fare rates. In order to receive these discount rates, a participant should call or email Linda Dean at All Aboard Travel (1-800-676-6908, dean@wspan.com). They should identify themselves as being with the NABS 2003 Conference and provide their arrival and departure dates and their location. She will provide them with the discounted rates and make their reservations.
An existing shuttle service between the Atlanta airport and Athens will be expanded for the meeting ($30 US each way). You must make your own reservations (each way) for this shuttle service by contacting:
AAA Airport Express at 800-354-7874 or www.aaaairportexpress.com
All major rental car companies service the Atlanta airport.
Athens is easily accessible by major highways (Hwy 316 from Atlanta, and Hwy 441 from the north or south). Parking will be free at motels and dorms, but charges may apply if you want to park downtown or at the Classic Center.
