AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY AND TOXICOLOGY, Baylor University

Baylor University seeks a candidate with skills in environmental chemistry and toxicology for a postdoctoral position, beginning August 2008. Ph.D. in environmental chemistry, environmental toxicology, environmental science or equivalent is required. Specific expertise in environmental analytical chemistry, analytical toxicology and/or aquatic toxicology and risk assessment is preferred. Experience with GC-MSMS and/or LC-MSMS a plus. Position responsibilities: perform research on environmental fate, exposure assessment and ecotoxicology of organic emerging contaminants (e.g., pharmaceuticals, personal care products, endocrine active compounds) and freshwater harmful algal blooms. Excellent environmental toxicology and chemistry and aquatic science laboratories (www.baylor.edu/bsb) with state-of-the-science equipment, including a core mass spectrometry facility, and off campus experimental facilities are available to support research activities of the successful applicant. Numerous opportunities exist for multidisciplinary collaboration within the Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research (http://www.baylor.edu/crasr), a vibrant group of aquatic and environmental scientists, staff and students.
