Graduate student and postdoc positions
Posted: 29 Sep, 2008
Expiration Date: 1 Dec, 2008
A PhD position examining the influence of aquatic insect biological traits on the response of river communities to multiple stressors is available at the Canadian Rivers Institute. Under the supervision of Dr Donald Baird (www.unb.ca/cri/baird_home.htm), the student will carry out a combination of field work, literature-based data mining and statistical modelling to understand the relationships between the functional traits of riverine insect communities and their response to environmental change, with a particular focus on the effects of ecohydrological alteration. Applicants will have a strong academic record and previous experience in invertebrate ecology. Field experience and previous training in aquatic insect taxonomy is an asset. The student will be located at the Canadian Rivers Institute (CRI) at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
