NABS ENDOWMENT STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS
The NABS Endowment committee
will award a total of eight (8) student travel awards of $300 each for the NABS 2000
Annual Meeting at Keystone Resort, Colorado. Awards will be from the General Endowment
fund (4 awards, all topics), Simpson Fund (1 award, applied topics), Americas Fund (1
award, student must be from Latin America), Peterson Fund (1 award, student must be
non-North American), and the Boesel-Sanderson Fund (1 award, natural history topics).
Applicants for the awards
must be graduate students in good standing and must have submitted an abstract for the
2000 meeting. Copies of the abstract should also be submitted to the Endowment committee
by January 7, 2000, accompanied by a letter from the applicant indicating the desire for
travel support. The travel awards are based on the quality of the research and the
abstract; the need for support is a secondary consideration. Winning students will be
informed by mid-February, and will be recognized in the Spring Program Bulletin. They will
also be introduced at the NABS2000 Business Luncheon.
Five (5) copies of the
abstract submitted for presentation at the 2000 Keystone meeting and a letter indicating
the need for travel support should be submitted in time to be received by January 7, 2000,
